Twenty degrees! (That’s room temperature for those of you living in the country that doesn’t use Celsius.) Yesterday the sun was shining! I opened the windows! I went out without a jacket!
I had work to do, but the forest paths called to me.
The snow was gone. The birds were singing! The trees were rustling! The scent of pine and fir and cedar is starting to return.
Ahhh
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,
when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
and see the brook and feel the gentle breeze,
then sings my souls, my Saviour God, to Thee,
“How great Thou art!”

Amazing to have room temperatures outside after a long winter. Love the beautiful photos I went on the walk down the path also in my imagination. It is -11 F about -24 C this morning. Alaska has some time to go before we see the green although the daylight is increasing daily and summer is around the corner. 🙂

I thought of you when I wrote this and admit I felt a bit of survivor guilt. We were in northern Alberta last week and it was still -20C and well below freezing in the daytime (I think things have improved.) It’s hard not to be envious of my friends in warmer places who are posting photos of their gardens, but long winters make us truly appreciate gentle weather here -and I’m sure you do even more so. I totally understand your joy in seeing more of the sun. Blessings on your warm heart today.

Thank you! We got several inches of snow a couple days ago. The diamonds in the snow are beautiful as they sparkle in the sun. Love it but I do enjoy the green. It will not be long before the snow melts and the rivers run free of ice! 🙂

20 degrees celsius? Brrrr…. It’s about that here at the moment as we are coming into autumn. I’ve had to go put a cardigan on this afternoon (Aussie for sweater). I can’t even imagine what minus 20 would be like. But then I CAN imagine 38 celsius coz I’ve been there. Funny how everything’s relative isn’t it? Wonder what temp it will be in Heaven, eh? May be 20 to 25, sounds nice 🙂

20 degrees in the fall is much cooler than 20 degrees in the spring, isn’t it? It’s back down to -2 this morning. I’m pretty sure heaven will be warmer than that.
