This may be the ultimate in lazy photography. I woke up and saw the sun shining through the window. I liked the way it looked, even without my glasses. I grabbed my phone and snapped a photo –still without my glasses. Who needs focus when the light is right?
Those flowers on the ledge were meant for someone else, but they started dropping petals before I could take them to her. They looked a little past their prime, but not dead yet, so I stuck them on my own window ledge with plans to get her something else. Then the sun lit them, and the whole room, a golden yellow.
I put my glasses on and sat on the edge of the bed. That’s when lines from a song by Kristene Demarco started playing in my head (and heart).
Let me show you what I see.
You can’t dream too big for Me.
So get up, get on your way.
We’ve got things to do today.
Fear not!
If I could say it any louder, I would!
I’ve been feeling discouraged lately. My body can’t keep up to the pace it used to. I’m behind schedule. I should be much further ahead in in spiritual and emotional maturity by now. People around me are excited about new projects and I feel like I’m still knee-deep in mop-up operations. There are things that have been the focus of my prayers for such a long time that are still a mess.
Then I remember that “dis-couraged,” like “dis-graced,” is description of lack, the removal of something that was once there. My heavenly Father no more deprives me of courage than he deprives me of grace. He is the source of courage as much as he is the source of grace — and I have already experienced his lavish grace in weakness.
Thank you, Lord for comfort in the form of a sunbeam and a song. Tears of joy come in the morning.
One time in prayer I was feeling the oldness creeping on me and I pleaded with the Lord that my life would shine as the noon day sun… (as I often feel more like a tiny candle than a light) and the impression He put upon my heart that though the sun at sunset in not as bright… there was a beauty in it that the noon day sun could never touch.
May it be so with us…

Beautiful how the light changes everything! The flowers look vibrant instead of past their prime.
God has called to me constantly, to drop the past with its failures and some success. He says, “I have much more for you but you have no room for it, carrying the old. Drop it and let go, forgive yourself and walk forward. I will fill you with the goodness I have for you. It is never too late, as long as you have breath. I placed you in this time and space for a purpose. My gifts and calling for you never changes. Even though you have not gotten out of all your messes, what I have for you is still there, stored in the refrigerator. Open the door and receive. I restore and give hope to the weary. Wait on me and dwell in my sunshine, my presence. Wait upon me, for I renew your strength.”
‘Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall. But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40: 30-31
“Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are as red as crimson, they will become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best of the land.” Isaiah 1:18-19
Abundant overflowing blessings, Charis, as you soak in the sunshine of Daddy God’s love and live in his grace! 🌅❤️😍

Me Too Melody. No need to complain or blame. It is what it is and shod is not keeping a toll on my feelings.
Music always helps me and I love those moments of finding the whole verses for the little tidbits floating from my memories. Finding, then singing the whole song.
Prayers and Blessings from me to you.
