I loved finding this phrasing of the verse in The Voice version. It`s like another meditation.

I have wanted to ask you how you do these, whether they’re a Bible version I’m unfamiliar with–or whether you’re inspired to poetry as you read the verse. I’m just curious, but was afraid of offending. I’ll check out the Voice–are there others I might like?

Bible Gateway is a wonderful resource. They carry many translations and paraphrases in English and other languages. I tend to re-read familiar passages in more than one version as an aid to meditation, although I frequently use the concordance search in 16th century English as the odd wording from childhood memory verses does stick in my head. I don’t read the old King James for every day study as much though, because I nearly always have to translate it for others who don’t speak that language anyway.
