There is a difference between speaking the truth in love and loving to speak the truth.
You only have as much influence in people’s lives as they have value for you. Anytime you try to have more influence than someone has value for you, you will manipulate them. -Kris Vallotton.

The quote by Kris is great. It’s a quote to meditate on. Thanks for sharing.

Deceit can be very deceptive. None of us intentionally believes a lie. If we knew it was a lie we wouldn’t believe it, but people with paranoid delusions, for example, cannot trust the messenger who desires to free them from the delusion, since they believe the messenger him/herself wants to harm and not love them. Correction brought by such an “enemy” merely serves to further entrench the lie. Sometimes the problem is not just the latest lie. Our problem is our inability to perceive or receive love, because the fundamental lie we bought in the beginning is that we are not loveable. imho
