Thank you. I love walking in this park in the autumn (and the winter, summer, spring…). The mountains feel like guardians around the valley. You can lean up against them and feel safe.
You know, my old Saskatchewan farmer uncle saw mountains as impediments. I took him to a viewpoint (which I thought was impressive) and asked what he thought of them. He said they were OK but they kind of blocked the view! I suppose they do block the way and are really hard to plow. I just got back from a long drive from a town near Calgary. I probably could have done it in a quarter of the time if there weren’t so many mountains to drive around, but I see them more as majestic heights, and rock fortresses now. Jesus took his friends up on top of a mountain to let them in on a pretty marvelous meeting. Maybe associating mountains with a mountain-top experience IS learning to see impediments through God’s eyes. Maybe impediments are meant to lift us up as well.
what a beautiful picture to accompany such a wonderful though! God bless!

no surprise that Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke about God leading him to the mountain! 🙂

I wonder how big the mountain was that Moses was led to? I saw Engedi and Masada where David hid. They were also quite impressive.

I think sometimes God created all this beauty to remind us of Him and of His promises. What a spectacular scene captured beautifully here on camera.

I agree. Beauty is Who He is.
